Hondarribia, natural, cultural and gastronomic destination

Hondarribia is a gipuzkoan village with just over 17,000 inhabitants, ideal for those who appreciate relaxing eating a good fish on the beachfront without crowds and for those who seek centuries of history and vestiges of it on their trips.

Fresh fish from the Cantabrian Sea and meats of excellent quality from nearby caseríos can be tasted in its many bars and restaurants.

Surf lovers find in Hondarribia the perfect destination, not only for its beach but for all the surrounding beaches known for the quality of the waves.

The town dresses in green to support the local trainera team (a sport based in the traditional boats of the Basque whalers). The national final is celebrated every September in San Sebastián, in the race so-called Bandera de La Concha.

Donostia, La Bella Easo

Just 20 minutes from Hondarribia is San Sebastián, certainly one of the cities with the best quality of life and one of the most beautifu citiesl in the world. With less than 200,000 inhabitants, it’s an international gastronomic reference for its top-level bars and pintxos. Also has the largest concentration of Michelin Star restaurants per km2 in the world.

Its spectacular white sand beaches, specially La Concha Beach, the pier, its imposing neoclassical buildings and pristine gardens will make your visit to the city a true delight.

It has important museums (like San Telmo, about Basque etymology) and contemporary constructions of great architects: the Kursaal, a cube-shaped congress palace designed by Rafael Moneo that is located in front of La Zurriola beach.

Pasajes San Juan

Pasajes is a very singular municipality formed by four towns: San Pedro, San Juan, Ancho and Trincherpe around an estuary (of the Oyarzun River) and the harbour of the same name. This harbour is the most important one in Gipuzkoa for merchant ships. You can usually see big ships moored at piers. San Juan, a fishing village, stands out for its picturesque cobbled streets and the colorful houses of its main square.
